Mommy Moments

I don't normally post on Sunday as it is the day I devote to my family, but I wanted to hop on here tonight and wish you all a very happy Mother's Day! I love being a mommy to my 3 (soon to be 4) little ones. Of course it is hard work, but the rewards are sweet!

I love when the whole family snuggles into my bed in the morning for cuddles before school. I love picnics in the park and tea parties in the living room. I love giggling at the silly or adorable things the kids say and do. I love kisses and hugs before bedtime and getting smashed between kids when we read stories. I love watching little personalities emerge and relationships between my kids develop. I love that they still need loves from Mom when they get an owie. I love the way my heart has expanded more than I could ever have imagined as the love for each of my children grows deeper and deeper.

And as you invite me into your lives to capture your children and your families, I love watching those sweet moments occur between you and your children. So, as a tribute to all of the mothers I have had the pleasure of working with, I wanted to share some of my favorite Mommy Moments (and Grandma Moments) from the past year. 

 

And of course, I have to pay tribute to my own amazing Mother for being an incredible example, a dear friend and a wonderful Grandma to my kids! I love this picture of her with my little girlies...

P.S. Speaking of MOTHERS...I am officially on maternity leave and 

will not be accepting any sessions until later this summer.

What a delight it was to spend an evening in the canyon with the Hut family!
They have been so patient waiting for me to post their preview and I am so excited
about all the great shots we got! It is always so hard to narrow it down!
I may just have to add an extra post of all the kiddos individual pictures! Adoreable!

the session that almost wasn't...

this was the session that just wasn't meant to be...

scheduling conflicts,

leaves that didn't change colors,

and a brother getting hit by a car and taken to the ER the morning of our session

(I am told that all is well with him now, just a little sore...don't want you to worry)!

...but I am so glad we made it happen anyway!

The Wood family is so dear to me.

I can call them in a pinch and I know that they will be there to help.

If my kids are getting restless being cooped up with Mom all day,

I can call them and a playdate/lunchdate/mommy break materializes!

If I am feeling like the whole mom job is way to hard,

she is there to commisserate with me and listen to me whine!

So, it is no wonder that it was a fun session...

it was just hanging out with dear friends!

Every time I run a mini-session I am amazed at how many fabulous photos can result from 25 minutes of shooting, and the Fall Minis at silver lake were no exception!

I had a blast hanging out with my dear friends the P family

Gorgeous Fall Family Photos

Last year, my cousins and I took our kids up to Silver Lake in September to see the fall leaves.

It was so gorgeous that my cousin decided she wanted her family photos taken there.

So we have been plotting this out since then and even though the leaves were just barely starting to turn, we finally made it happen last weekend!

Everything was gorgeous!

Beautiful evening light, stunning family, adoreable kids, and the tall grasses and purple flowers - breathtaking!

We looked at ducks and tried to see fish...


We giggled (and I am totally in love with the matching red fingernails happening here)...

And shared the joy of purple flowers...

she was totally obsessed with them!

I got a lot of these adoreably silly faces


Just to get a few of these just plain adoreable faces


And I am pretty sure it is safe to assume that these two like each other....


Plus, we saw a momma moose and her baby about 10 feet away from us.
Way cool...and a little scary!
